RSPB Big Schools' Bird Watch
18th Jan 2018
Today was a very exciting day for P5/6 - Karen from the RSPB came in for the morning so that we could take part in the Big Schools' Bird Watch. We spent some time in the school grounds, before heading off to Mr Lyttle's field. We saw 82 different birds - including very rare Yellowhammer and Redwings!
It was cold but we were all wrapped up warm and it was nice to get out of the classroom for the morning. When we got back, we inputted the data into the website and were able to create charts showing our results.
The information that we collected will be used by the RSPB head office to track the population of different species.
