In P1/2 we have been loving our new topic 'Cold Lands'. We have been exploring cold land animals that live in the Arctic and Antarctic. We talked about inuits; what they wear and what they like to eat. During play we have had great fun in our cold lands role play area, creating igloos and glaciers from lego and playing penguin board games.
This week P1 learnt all about the sound 'u'. P1 made very colourful letters using the peg boards and designed fancy umbrellas. P2 were learning all about the double 'll' sound. P2 sorted the words into real words and alien words.
In numeracy we talked about the different ways in which you can sort items into groups; using colour, patterns, shape, size.
P1/2 loved getting outside in the nicer weather for P.E. We played follow the leader and explored different ways to travel around the playground.
In PDMU we continued to explore our senses. This week we talked about the sense of touch. We had to look away and guess what was under the blanket using only our hands!
