Big Bird Watch with the RSPB
On our first day back at school after the Christmas holidays, we had a visit from the RSPB so that we could take part in the Big Bird Watch for schools. Schools all over the UK take part in this every year to help the RSPB compile data on the different types of birds in the country. First of all, we learnt about the different types of birds that we might see and how to identify them. We also learnt about how to help look after the birds in our gardens, especially over the winter when they need it the most.
Then, we all walked to one of Mr Lyttle's fields and took a note of all the birds that we saw. When we got back to the classroom, we were able to input the information into the RSPB website.
