Visit to Ulster Museum

3rd Feb 2023

On Thursday 2nd February, we visited the Ulster Museum to learn about our topic of Ancient Egypt. We started with a workshop with Mrs Baird who taught us lots about the topic and allowed us to interact with real life artifacts - we even got to hold some that were over 3000 years old!

We then visited the Ancient Egyptian Exhibition where we got to see the mummified body of Takabuti, along with a variety of other artifacts, including a mummified cat. The children were blown away at how well preserved Takabuti's body was and many remarked at how lovely her teeth were.

After lunch, we had a chance to explore the rest of the museum. We chose to explore the nature section and enjoyed looking at the amazing features and creatures from all around the world. The children particularly enjoyed the interactive room where they got to explore lots of animals in detail.

We finished our trip with a walk around the Tropical Ravine in the Botanical Gardens. There we saw lots of beautiful plants. The children were amazed that the climate made it possible for one of the trees to be starting to produce bananas.

We had a brilliant day and made lots of special memories!
