Corries new apprentices!

6th Oct 2016

Today was the day that two of our very excited children made their way to Corries Farm with Mrs Rea to create their sausages, as finalists in the local competition to invent a new sausage flavour! Finlay helped make his salsa and cheese sausage called ‘Salsa Porkie’ and Eva made her ‘Fruit Sausage’ with pork, apple and pear with help from Chris. When they arrived, they had to put on a hair net, an apron and some gloves to keep them nice and clean and to be hygienic. They then mixed their chosen ingredients into the pork mixture using their (clean) hands.

Then, they went into a very cold room where the sausages were piped into the casings, ready to be sold in the shop! They even got to make burgers with the sausage meat and got some to take home for their families to taste. And, finally, they got to taste their creations in a hot dog bap. Mr Corrie came and meet the children and he presented them with a certificate.

As part of the competition, shoppers can help pick the winner this Friday and Saturday by calling into the shop and buying their favourite! Please support our pupils by voting for them.
