We have spent weeks building, painting and preparing our volcanoes for eruption. First we added warm water to our plastic bottles, which were hidden inside the paper mache mountain. Next, we added a generous squirt of washing up liquid, and a heaped tablespoon for bicarbonate of soda. Red food colouring was added to make the lava the right colour. And finally, the vinegar is added and we held our noses and crossed our fingers!
